i ranked my list. it was easy at the top but so difficult toward the middle and end. and i was a little bias with some films (Tangled, Inception, Kick-Ass)

i couldn't really rank things easily this year. last year, there were a few films that i felt were instant all-time favorites, while this year, it's more like overall good stuff but i don't know if any will end up on my all-time.

that's a pity! i really wanted it to make back its budget!
for my top films i picked the ones that were likely to be my all-time favorites and left the really-good-ones-but-not-sure-if-all-time for the honorable mentions, including some films i thought were well-made but didn't fully connect with.

I think it will internationally, but i don't think a film can be considered a "hit" unless the worldwide gross at least doubles its budget cause of advertising costs, etc. but i guess it lost its 3D screens last week because of Tron and Yogi Bear.
I'm not sure which ones will end up on my all-time list here. The only one that I'm almost 100% positive will is True Grit (but even still, I already have like 3 westerns on my favorites lol) and maybe Inception. I do need some time to settle though. Last year, I didn't think too much of The Hurt Locker when I first saw it in the summer, but eventually after rewatches, it's made my all-time favorites.

well i really hope it does, Kick-Ass failed in the US but apparently it's considered a hit world-wide.... although that's what the magazines write, i'm not actually sure about it's box office gross.
haha i really enjoyed what i've seen in the previews of True Grit, i don't usually like Westerns but this looks like a nice revenge drama--- is it?

Kick-Ass has a low budget though (like $30 mil) so even its domestic gross isn't considered too horrible and add in international gross, it tripled its budget. And that's considered pretty good. Tangled's budget is just so massive that anything less than $200 million domestic looks like a flop.
I'd say it's more like a traditional John Ford Western than a revenge drama (if you're expecting some kind of Kill Bill revenge climax, I think it'll be disappointing).

Oh I see!
Haha, I don't think I'm expecting anything like Kill Bill! Kill Bill was just fully-fledged action fantasy. But I do like revenge dramas, even if it's less extreme.
