I haven't seen all of the things on your list (can't wait to see The King's Speech, True Grit, and Exit Through the Gift Shop), but I so, so agree with the 3 animated movies, and Black Swan. They were all better than I expected, and my expectations were already high for Toy Story 3 and Black Swan.

Exit Through the Gift Shop is already out on DVD I believe! I do think for the most part, the films this year met my expectations and a few of them were pleasant surprises.

Do you mind telling me, exactly how much violence did True Grit have? I'm very squeamish. I managed to get through Black Swan just fine, and I know True Grit is only rated PG-13, but I wanted to check because I usually cannot deal.

If you can handle Black Swan, you'll be fine. There's maybe one scene that might be pushing the PG-13 rating, but overall, you don't see much blood. It's definitely not as violent as like Unforgiven or some other westerns.

Ah, okay, thanks. My issues with blood have kept me from seeing movies in the past, and I really want to see this one. I should definitely be able to handle that.
