I'm pretty much OK with most of the winners, except for The Descendants. The whole thing about it becoming a "future classic" was just wtf My thoughts exactly. lol, even my dad made a WTF?!face that matched mine when the 'future classic' line was dropped about The Descendants.
Totally stanning The Artist for the Oscars, even though I still haven't seen it lol. I'm hoping now that it's been getting so much publicity during awards season, that it will finally open somewhere near me *crosses fingers* I was also kind of surprised, but really, really happy, that Marty got Best Director for Hugo. At least Hugo won something jeez! I get that people see it as a 'children's film' but COME ON NOW, it'e way better than a lot of other films that came out last year. And I was happy that Michelle won as well, and her speech brought tears to my eyes. Although idk why My Week With Marilyn was classified as a Comedy because, I didn't get funny out of it when I saw it...eh, whatever.
The fashion was kind of hit and miss for me. Angelina and Evan Rachel Wood's dresses were probably my favorites, with Queen Tilda a close third. Emma Stone and Claire Danes' were also lovely. lol, I must be the only person that didn't like Julianna Margulies's dress at all, a part from the cute green earrings and flawless hair, I just didn't like that look at all. I also get so sick and tired of the guys not even trying though. I mean, I get that these nights are pretty much all about the ladies, but would it kill the guys to break free of the standard black tuxes just ONCE?
Honestly, it's just so weird for someone to refer to their own movie as a "future classic" (even if it was the producer). Like, seriously? How the hell would you even know if something is a future classic anyways? Lots of movies that did well when they came out are totally irrelevant and forgotten now.
The Artist is a good film to root for, not only cause it was delightful, but also because the cast is soooooo cute and they just seem like really nice people who completely did not expect all this attention for their movie. Especially judging on Dujardin, Bejo and Hazanavicius' previous films, they really do seem like they just made this movie for their own enjoyment rather than so many films these days that just get made to win awards.
Seriously the men's outfits get more and more boring each year. I guess at least Michael Fassbender wore a weird shiny suit that kinda looked like leather.
