cadbury & schweppes

Note: This is actually from yesterday, so, uh... I don't know what day it is anymore.

It's Tuesday and I'm in Melbourne now, after a 10 hour drive from Sydney in a Rav4 with next to no leg room and no chance of doubling as a comfortable bed. By now, I'm of the conviction that all of my cousins on my mother's side of the family are amazingly alike in the absolutely best way possible. Plus, they all have Wiis :D (I need to make a note of sending them my friend code when I get back home).

If Sydney's the Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, and Marina Districts, then Melbourne is Mission and Market. There's a tram system similar to MUNI, complete with those wire things hanging above the streets; the only difference is that they're on rails as well. It's uncanny, too, because the area preceding the city is exactly like Daly City. I kept forgetting what country I was in on the way here. Oh, and it's really windy right now; leaves turn into shrapnel at these speeds (my face still hurts). XD

My Kuya Randle and his girlfriend are going to be showing us around tomorrow, and he told me about this awesome exhibition on Pixar's animation from the last 20 years, which I'm hoping we'll have time to see. There's also a Guggenheim exhibition, some science thing which sounds interesting (don;t they always? :D), and an outdoor installation devoted to graffiti. Definitely looking forward to waking up in a couple hours (It's almost 2 am, and at home it's already 8:50 in the morning).

BTW, we're staying at Medina, a sort of apartment-hotel thing, and the view outside our window is breathtaking. Once you get past the giant tree creeping onto the balcony, you're greeted with a striking view of the skyline, which includes the Cadbury-Schweppes building, quite possibly one of my most favorite brands of sweets, sodas, and various other things that are bad for you. Que sabroso! :D

LOL RANDOM OCCURRENCE: I was using one of the public toilets (no one says restroom here :D;;) during a rest stop, and I turned on the cold water tap, only to get yellow water. In a restroom. Using only reclaimed water.

EWWWWWWW, o______________o

In the time since I last wrote anything, I've:
  • met my cousins Mary Grace and Rachel (we stole* Rachel-pachel and brought her with us to Melbourne. She's a truant now >D)
  • yet again failed to do the monkey bars
  • made friends with a lorikeet
  • seen a baby chick's head get torn off by a falcon
  • played around with a Magic Sing
  • visited the Blue Mountains via Echo Point and Scenic World
  • ridden the world's steepest incline railroad (52 degrees!)
  • cleaned up spyware
  • been hit by a stick
  • lost all feeling in my legs after sitting for six hours or more
  • gotten to the good parts of 1984 (past p140!)
  • fallen asleep on my face
  • played with Kuya Randle's adorable parrot
  • gotten hooked on WarioWare on the Wii
  • really wanted some sago
  • came across some original Animaniacs cels at a Warner Brothers store

*She was begging to go with us instead of going to school; she's adorable. XD

I need to get more homework done D: Maybe I can write about all this artwork I've been seeing lately for extra credit from Mrs. Kury or something. :O In the meantime, I need a paperclip so I can work on my scratchboard stuff. :D
