lips like sugar.

i have not fallen off the face of the earth,
nor been sucked down a hole to its center.
i'm still here.

at college. in ewing. don't worry.

adjusting to being back at school was not difficult to manage.
classes are great. i'm applying to be a tutor at the Tutoring Center,
and lately i've been a volunteer to help basic writing classes revise their essays.

so, it's not that i've purposely gone MIA;
it just comes with the territory.

i used to wonder how college students suddenly lost touch with world,
and with their old friends, and with the people they used to call
all the time. but i understand it more now.

as for my life, it has been on it's way, winding around.
yes, i spend most of my time with Alex,
and he is fantastic.

for an early Valentine's gift, he got me
a pink Game Boy Color and a worm light
and the game Harvest Moon, in which you play
a really cute farmer who raises animals
and plants crops.

it's the first toy gift i've received in about ten years,
and when he's playing video games now i can, too.

it's a really cool gift actually!

for him, i bought two of his favorite movies on DVD,
Zulu, one of Michael Caine's first movies
about 100 British soldiers fighting 4,000 Africans
(actually a very unbiased and great film),
Cyrany de Bergerac with Gerard Depardieu,
an Echo & the Bunnymen live double cd set
(one of the bands he likes,
and the book Candide.

yesterday, Valentine's Day, was wonderful.

he bought me flowers and chocolate
(i'd never gotten those before),
and i wrote him a sappy but meaningful card.
then, and i kid you not,
we just hung around and talked
and looked at knives (yes, knives)
online for...about 2 1/2 hours.

it was my first real Valentine's Day!

the night before we had gone around and given out the Valentine's Cards
we'd made for everyone o the floor; we had even written notes on the back
of them. people liked them. they were cute Spongebob cards that came
with candy.

today is class and responsibility and homework and other such things.

but i don't mind because i'm happy
and life is pretty darn good.
