I was working on my bed, which is raised a meter off the ground today when I feinted. I was about to set off for a meeting with SCALE and I had been sitting on my bed for quite some time, so I stretched my back. And while I stretched all the blood rushed out of my head, and I heard a weird buzzing in my ears. Then it was like I fell asleep, and I had a dream about the paper I was writing, like I saw the two characters interacting in a scene. Then I felt a pain in the back of my head and I woke up on the floor, completely disconcerted, with my roommate coming at me, arms outstretched, saying "Oh my god, are you ok?"
"What just happened?" I asked.
"You did a somersault off the bed. I thought you were reaching down for something until you rolled under your bed!"
I started crying, just because it was so disconcerting and scary, but at the same time I started laughing, because of the nerves and because the image of me rolling off the bed is pretty funny!
For a second I wasn't sure if I'd fallen asleep, but I distinctly remember getting the computer off my lap to go get dressed, and two minutes went by from when I stretched and when I got off the floor. So I'm pretty sure I feinted.

So, instead of going to the meeting, I went to the university park health center and got a bunch of tests - blood tests, urine tests, weird-electrodes-connected-to-my-body-to-check-my-heart-rate tests. And as far as they can tell I'm fine. It was just a fluke. Which is a relief, I guess, because it's not normal to just feint. I have to go back tomorrow or the day after to make sure, but at any rate, it was a scare that didn't last very long :)
