i have quite a few things planned for this weekend all of which, aside from babysitting, involve great friends.
as pathetic as it sounds, i have gotten into my neopets kick again. it is bad when you are sitting in class and wondering if someone has bid on your paintbrush yet. at least i do not dash to the library to check it.
i made the most amazing cake for latin class yesterday. it was:
dark chocolate cake [mr. grabareks fav]
strawberry frosting [pink, duh]
red, white, blue jimmies [all i had]
gummie bears [only the best cake topping ever]
green frosting that you can write with [which i did not use to write with]
i was going to write caesar quotes on it like veni, vidi, vici [which is pronounced like waney, widdy, wicky] and alia iacta est, but writing with frosting is quite difficult. i was also going to write augustus sucks in big letters because augustus does suck. wanna know why?
mr. grabarek and argue every single class over who is better, augustus or caesar. actually augustus is somewhat a fine person. the mean person is who he was before he changed his name: octavian. everyone has heard of julius caesar. everyone. most people would mistake him for the first emperor or rome, which he most certainly was not [augustus was]. not many people have heard of augustus/octavian. romans practically worshipped caesar. even now on march 15th, the romans weep for the death of caesar. in fact, the roman people loved caesar so much that they made him dictator for ten years and then for life, not octavian. caesar was an amazing general and octavian was terrible. the only other roman who had defeated the germans was none other than marius, the great uncle of caesar, until caesar decided to go off and defeat them. octavian sucked as a general so much that he had to get someone else, agrippa, to win for him. nevetheless, the still won. caesar was also known for his great mercy. he did not kill unless he really absolutely had to, which is very unlike octavian. caesar and pompey were not very good friends and were in a massive civil war. when ptolemy [14th, i think?] killed pompey and presented caesar with his head, caesar did not rejoice, he wept. octavian did not show mercy at all. in fact, octavian issued proscription all throughout rome to kill anyone he did not see as a "fit citizen". [basically no one he liked.] the great cicero died in 43 because he was proscibed. the only mistake caesar ever made was naming octavian as his heir. it gets even worse too. augustus neede an heir so bad and all of the ones he had in line kept dying, so he made his daughter marry her cousin so that he could be his heir. he then exiled her because marrying your cousin is illegal. augustus was so proud of julius caesar. so proud that he took his name and then killed caesars only son, caesarian. basically that is why augustus sucksssss.
