Well I went to an amusement park this weekend, which was not very enjoyable, but I was able to spend time with my dad, so that was nice. I realized how much I dislike amusement parks. Tonight I watched "Whale Rider" for the second time with my mom, it is such a fascinating movie. Then today I was reading this book about all different types of music and there was interesting information on Indian and some other types. I have been listening to a variety of Indian music lately, especially Bollywood soundtracks. I checked out a Best of Bollywood cd and the soundtrack from the movie Devdas from the library, among a variety of others. I really enjoy listening to the music. I have also listened to a quite a bit of other things. I have also been reading, quite a bit. I am in the process of reading and Agatha Christie novel, a Rosamunde Pilcher novel, and a variety of books on Indian music and The Beatles.
I finally have my schedule for next semester mostly figured out. I am taking, Introduction to Anthropology, Guitar Lessons, Concert Choir, Special Topics in British Poetry, Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque Music, Piano Lessons, Early Music Ensemble, Yoga, and I am waitlisted for Medieval and Renaissance Philosophy, so if that class does not open, I will have to find something else to take. I am also most likely going to take a Tutorial on learning musical equipment useful for ethnomusicology. Also, on the side I will be working on my thesis. I am also going back when the freshman start, because my dad just got a permanent job and will not be able to take a day off in the middle of the week till November or December. I am excited to go back and since I am going back early I have to have work to do, so I be doing work around Barler for Prof. Penniman.
My brother's foot that he ran over with a tow motor is healing much better, he still has it wrapped and is on crutches, but hopefully he should be able to play football.
I have been happy lately because my dad bought me the first season of Arrested Development that Katie got me hooked on in Bath. I also received the 2nd series of Foyle's War, which I absolutely love. They are belated birthday presents. When I first came home my dad gave me The Lemony Snickett DVD and The Life Aquatic. When I get back to school I have a few movies and cds I want to get. Finding Neverland, Vanity Fair, the DVD and soundtrack to Bride and Prejudice and a few British cds. I want to work on a few letters this week, since I have some assorted postcards and cards that I need to send to people. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and I miss them dearly.
