Wrong time of the year to be working in retail

Jul 20, 2005 01:54

Back to School is coming up soon...VERY soon. This means that Georgia's annual tax-free weekend is also approaching quickly...VERY quickly. How quickly you ask? Did you know that it is NEXT weekend as in July 28-31!? This means that since computers and computer accessories apply as tax-free...well, to but it lightly, you will probably not want to be near Best Buy or really ANY retail store unless you are going to purchase something specifically to get it with no tax. However, on the other hand, if you DO plan on coming by Best Buy to purchase a computer, we will ask that you be EXTREMELY patient with the lines and know what you want (don't go just to look). Keep in mind if you come in to buy a computer that we (the salespeople) are working upwards of 10-12 hour shifts daily for this event which may make some of us easily aggitated so being nice and easy with your salesperson will also allow the transaction to go smoothly as we all want the same thing (you to leave the store with a computer that fits your needs and/or wants).

This was just to forewarn you all about this event. Beware.
