Today is one of those very rare days - a really good day overall AND a really good shopping days. I got up around 8:30 am (I got 9 hours of sleep, 'tis why I woke up early) and pitter-patter around doing this and that with my morning coffee. Then I had a delicious lunch (leftover Clubchop from Chicken Grill last night) before beginning my shopping excursion.
For Christmas, my grandfather sent my parents and me each a $50 gift card to Wal-Mart. I headed to the Florida City Wal-Mart (as the Kendall one is overcrowded and scary). I got 3 cds - Norah Jones, Craig David (his debut), and No Doubt (The Singles 1992-2003). Plus a cute shirt that is actually sleepwear, but is nice enough to wear on the street. And a $5 UM hat (ones in the bookstore are easily 5 times that) as I'm a senior and have virtually no UM gear.
Then, I headed to Marshall's. Now, Marshall's is either full of crap or a gold mine. Today, major gold mine. I found various purty shirts for work; among them a Perry Ellis shirt that I paid only $24.99 (original price: $58). I also got a cute tiny black purse, gym pants, and a couple of shirts for everyday wear.
THEN, (how exciting it never ends!) I went to Old Navy. See, what I really need are khaki pants, as I wear them all the time to work at the Convo Center, but no luck finding purty ones that fit. BUT, I did find a pair of black pants on sale, a gym shirt and yoga pants. My new gym gear is for this semester. I'm going to attempt to work out at the gym 1 to 3 times a week. So, I need all the new gym gear. Since I'm still in need of khakis and underwear (too much info?), next week's adventure: JCPenny's, Sears and Victoria's Secret.
And for anyone who's shaking their heads thinking I spent a lot of money (like I did earlier): A) Each individual item was on-sale or inexpensive to begin with and B) I go shopping twice a year. And my credit card ends tomorrow so next week's purchases will be held off for a month! YAY!
Oh, and on top of ALL that, I'm having a GREAT hair day. I blow dried it straight and it doesn't look like frizzy poop!!! YAY!
shopping,
good days
