Update and Reflection

Well, as I have just finished tagging all LJ entries, I realized that I haven't given a real update recently. So here goes.

I have been in a general state of laziness due to several days off from work (mixture of holidays and vacay days). Plus work has been extremely quiet as it usually is this time of year.

Christmas was good. Nothing exciting, just me and the parents at home. It was a very different Christmas than we ever had - even when it's been just the three of us in the past. It's kind of hard to put into words. I got some good stuff, the most exciting of which was a DVD/VCR combo for my room and the DVD of Office Space. I watched it with my parents. They loved it! hehe

This past Wednesday I had a half day at work (due to vacay days), so I saw The Family Stone with my mom. It was an enjoyable movie, but could have been better. There were several story lines going on, so none of them were as well developed as they could have been. That night I went out to dinner with high school friends and hung out afterwards. One friend in attendance hasn't been down in a couple of years (she lives in northern FL). She's engaged (the first of us!) and looks great. It seems as though everything is falling in place for her after dealing with many a bumpy roads.

Yesterday I had another follow-up with my surgeon. I'm healing perfectly and my scars are already starting to fade (apparently it's sooner than usual). I bought a cream like thing to put over my scars to help them fade. I asked my doctor when I could start wearing regular, wired bras. He said that I can wear whatever I want now!!! w00t! I have $90 worth of Victoria's Secret gift cards to use up. But I'm a little hesitant to buy something b/c my boss said that she didn't buy one until 5 months after her surgery (it's only been 2 since mine...wow, feels longer). I think I might wait a couple of weeks and buy an inexpensive bra at Target as a trial run. Either way, it's very exciting. I don't have to go back for another 3 months, and that's probably going to be my last follow-up.

The rest of yesterday was a nice balance of lazy and productive. Hopefully today will be similar. For New Year's I think I'm going to dinner and Bayside with the high school crowd. I can't believe another year is over. It's amazing how quickly time is passing. We'll see what the next year holds for all of us. I have some resolutions of my own, but they've been more or less the same in recent years and nothing ever changes. Maybe this year they will. Doubtful, but possible.
