*In fourteenth-century England, the number of males named Robert, William, Henry, John, or Richard averaged 2 out of every 3.
Explains why medieval English history is so damn impossible, eh? Right now, in Spain, we're learning about three Alfonsos who were kings of Castile, Aragon, and Leon, and who were succeeded (irrespectively, I don't remember the order....) by Pedro the Bad, Pedro the Cruel, and Pedro the Ceremonious. Seriously. Anyway, if you throw in Edward, you've got the entire medieval English monarchy. With the exception of a random addition of a King Stephen. By the way, for more trivia... Did you know that Vaclav, Wenceslaus, and Charles are the same name? I do now. King Vaclav of Bohemia (Czech Republic) had a son named Wenceslaus. Vaclav founded the Charles' Bridge, and Karlstein Castle (Charles' Stone in German). I really hate the Slavs. ;) ~Corey
By the way... Pedro the Ceremonious executed an enemy by forcing him to drink molten lead. As my professor said "this makes you wonder just how bad Pedro the Cruel and Pedro the Bad were." ~Corey
By the way... Be careful when in my house. Keep an eye on your possessions - my sister has taken to randomly freezing my car keys, and then giving them back to me. ~Corey
