And of course, Happy Children's Day to everyone as well~! Back when we were still living in our apartment, Otou-san would raise the koinobori flags out on our balcony at the start of Golden Week every year. It was just the three of us for a long time, so just our three carps would be waving about on the flagpole. We added one for Noé as well on the year he came to live with us, and the flagpole seemed a little fuller because of it. ...But until we came to live with the Sanadas, I didn't think it was actually possible to fit fourteen carps on a flagpole. >>; And honestly, it's rather awe-inspiring to look at because of that fact. Though as a result, I'm sure some of the neighbors were giving Sanada-san and Otou-san some strange stares while they were putting it up. ^^; It was kinda surprising when Sanada's parents mentioned they were going to add more carps for all of us as well. They didn't really have to. I'm sure Otou-san would've ended up putting our own flags on top of the separate house we're in if they hadn't. But it was kind of them. It's...nice to feel like this is where we belong and that they're happy to have us with them~ But they didn't do that just for us. They added one for Yukimura too~! Mine, his, and Sanada's all have Rikkai colors on them~ It's rather cool-looking~ I had to take pictures and sent them to everyone~
Found out Sanada's folks also have a whole set of real oyoroi armor that they break out for the holiday. Seriously, all my family ever had was just a kabuto helmet and we *bought* that. >>; But I guess I shouldn't really be surprised that they've got something old like that that they've had in the family forever. Aside from "the rock", that is. ...But it's a rock, so it doesn't count. >>; Their family is, like, descended from samurai, or something.
But aside from that, for those wondering why I brought up Cinco de Mayo even though I'm not Mexican (which I'm not, for anyone that still keeps thinking I am :|), it's because today in combination with the Golden Week festivities, the Mexican population in Yokohama will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo~! From what Okaa-san has told me, since she's apparently friends with a few Mexican ex-patriots who are helping organize things, there's going to be a lot of fun activities going on in town~ So we're going to go check it out~ But I thought I'd let everyone else know about it, in case they're curious and feel like going to see things as well. And anyone who's interested is welcome to come tag along with me and my family when we head out if you don't know where to go or don't want to go by yourself~ The more the merrier, even~
...Oh, I also heard someone blonde and obnoxious is having a birthday today, but then I realized no one cares about that.
[OOC: I think with both families (plus Yukimura) all added up together it'd be fourteen people. I could be wrong, though. >> And since I'm not sure, are Yukimura and Sanada still away at a tournament?]
