It has been three days since the last velociraptor attack.
Three days since she had seen its scaly face and smelt its putrid breathe as it crossed into her camp in search of human flesh.
Three days since she had been forced away from the river and into higher ground.
For three days she had feared sight of the moon’s darkening, blinding her in the night where even the whisper of the wind through the leaves .
For three days she had climbed through dozens of trees, gain scratches and bruises in the hopes for a decent night of sleep.
And as the roar was heard, she turned, the latest measure of safety lost, so she ran and the countdown restarted.
Its been 23 seconds since the last velociraptor attack.
