Plot Summary
A 19 year old girl is forced to be leader and protector of a community three years after an alien invasion causes the death of 2/3 of the population of earth. She is the strongest of the changed, people who mutated after an atmospheric change brought about an epidemic, cause by the aliens occupation. Her only dream, however, is to be free of this responsibility without the guilt that leaving would cause their deaths. In her search for a secure location to build this community, she comes across many challenges, including changed that want control of her people and resources, and the fact that she's an unnatural attraction to the aliens, which bring them where ever she tries to hide. As stronger opponents get closer, she must choose between fighting for those who become dependent on her or giving away her responsibility and living the life a 19 year old should, even in this new world.
