I really want to see the new Star Trek movie!
Of course, I'll probably hate it ("but that change means such-and-such episode couldn't have happened, and that was one of my favorites!") but I still really want to see it! I really, really, really love the original Star Trek series - it's so cheesy, and so full of terrible science, and bad acting, and idiotic plots and so on, but that's what makes it so good! I've always kind of liked Star Trek. While other science fiction universes imagined the future as a dark, depressing place, Star Trek was very... optimistic, I suppose.
Everyone should go and watch the series. Well, not all of them, I guess. "Spock's Brain" is a... really weird episode. But at the very least everyone should see "The Trouble with Tribbles" and "Mirror, Mirror." Those two are pretty much a part of American culture now.
This is really funny if you've seen a lot of the old episodes, especially the flow chart at the bottom.
Truthfully, I've never really watched much of any of the other series. Whenever I try to watch The Next Generation, I always get annoyed by Wesley, though I like the rest of the cast a decent amount. I haven't even watched all of the original series! When I used to watch the episodes on TV, they always played the exact same episodes every time. I've seen "Amok Time" too many times to count.
