Crap! I done did it again...

Damn. I fucked up my shoulder wake boarding. With so many damn bumps and bruises that I've experienced snowboarding, I didn't think a wipe out on water would hurt as much as it does on ice. Damn was I wrong. I stand corrected and injured. Summary: I pushed and pulled myself as far away from the wake as possible toe side, then I leveled out and waited for the boat to pull the slack of the rope to send me ripping back towards the wake traversing slightly heel side. As I moved towards the wake, I realized that I had generated a lot of speed. I should have just cut through the wake. Instead, I went for the glory. I tried to position myself for the jump. Shoulders square, weight slightly distributed more towards the back foot, knees bent and poised to pop off the wake and land on the other side. That's what should have happened. Should have, could have, would have... didn't. I didn't have enough time to set up. I just popped in the last second and found myself way up in the air doing a 35mph hour superman, entire body parallel with the water, wake board trailing behind, still holding onto the handle [you're supposed to let go when shit hits the fan], face first collision into the water like it was a brick wall. The experience was like a free visit to the chiropractor... I heard and felt a series of bones cracking and shifting along my spine, neck, shoulders and jaw area [in the face!]. My wake board also managed to get ripped off my feet as I plunged x amount of feet into the water. For a second there, I thought I was paralyzed. I checked myself and determined that I was still mobile. Thank God. It was a scary moment. The boat came back for me and I decided to go for another round. Gotta keep at it. Well, I didn't know how bad the injury to my shoulder was until I attempted military press at the gym. It's going to be awhile before it heals. I should get it checked out. But I probably won't. I'll just have to lay off the stunts until I get a better feel for the water.
