Godfrey Travels
I'll probably write a real entry sometime later or tomorrow or something, but for now, I want to talk about something I'm trying.
So, I tend to create a lot of worlds and settings and stuff for various short stories I intend to write, but never actually go through with them, because I am terrible at sitting down and writing a short story all in one go, and I like to have people's feedback as I'm going along in order to improve. This doesn't work well with short stories, since people don't want to read the same thing over and over again in revisions.
So what I'm doing, is I started a livejournal, and I am writing a journal in a sort of Gulliver's Travels fictional exploration way. Hopefully daily, I will add to the character's adventures, and it will evolve that way. When I reach the end of it, I'm going to take the story, take advice and praise into account, and hand-copy it into a very nice paper journal, including illustrations. I hope this will at least be an interesting conversation piece, if not a potential published piece if I like it well enough. (Can you publish handwritten items?)
