Last night I saw you standing on the edge of the world staring at the setting sun, your arms spread wide as if you were about to leap off the edge into nothing. From my point of view, you eclipsed the star, which produced an aurora around you. I thought I saw something in the shadow of the light, but I dismissed it. You turned to me and smiled, never putting your arms down, and you said, "I love you, and I will be back for you." Then you jumped. I screamed your name before you fell, but immediately wished to choke back the words. You see, just after my exclamation, I realized that I hadn't been dreaming at all about my vision in the aurora. You had wings. I made a silent vow to be here when you returned, and so I built myself a house and made it a home. One day, you will come back, and we will be happy in my house on the edge of the world, you and I.
