For My Good

Mar 26, 2004 06:51

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good? deuteronomy 10:12-13

God's instructions to me are for my good. My good! Not just for His ego, which if anyone deserved to have an ego, the Most High God would be that person. His love for me is overwhelming. It bathes me and envelopes me. And his word for me is simple (but not necessarily easy to follow in this distracting world) . . . (1) fear [have reverential awe] the Lord, (2) walk in all of His ways, (3) love Him and serve Him with all my heart and soul, (3) keep the Lord's commandments and statutes.

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you. Thank you for your never ending love, so that even in my state, where I am frequently drawn to the distractions of this world, work, family, getting things done, You love me and You plan for my welfare. Thank you for your graciousness, for Your mighty hand to protect me from all the stupid things that I do, from my small faith. Thank you for Your faithfulness, which cannot be measured. It is too great for me. Dear Lord, please use me today to be a blessing to others, please lead me to those who You would have me minister to, that Your name will be glorified, and that all honor and praise will go to You. In your precious, precious holy name, amen.
