God, whose heaven is His easy chair, earth is His foot stool, all that it contains He created. What can I give Him or build for Him? A humble heart! That is what He will respect and appraise as value!
This is true worship . . . Thus says the Lord: "Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest? For all those things My hand has made, and all those things exist," says the Lord. "But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word." isaiah 66:1-2
Compared to false worship . . . "He who kills a bull is as if he slays a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, as if he breaks a dog's neck; he who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine's blood; he who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol. Just as they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations, so will I choose their delusions, and bring their fears on them; because, when I called, no one answered, when I spoke they did not hear; but they did evil before My eyes, and chose that in which I do not delight. isaiah 66:3-4
Oh, Lord God, Heavenly Father, Lover of my soul, Intimate Friend, You and You alone know my heart, my thoughts, my intentions . . . and I am not sinless but I am innocent before You, Lord. Please have the Holy Spirit guide me in all things today, even before I can think them or say them or do them, that in all I may glorify You. Father, I realize that I bring nothing to the table that can impress you, nor could I ever manufacture anything that would be worthy for You, but You simply want me, all of me in my willingness to follow You with great delight. Use me today, shield me from the evil one and his hosts, make me to be a blessing with everyone who You bring into my paths, Oh Lord, my Redeemer! In the strong name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ, amen.
