This is Catsby:

aldarsior's friend found him all alone in the bushes somewhere on the outskirts of Savannah, GA. aldarsior drove there and back in one day to pick him up and he's been terrorizing us ever since.

This is Daisy:

We adopted Daisy from a local rescue after hearing over and over again that the best toy for a kitten is another kitten. Incidentally, that is totally true. Since the acquisition of Daisy, Catsby is a much more functional kitten, which is to say he allows us to pet him without trying to bite us (sometimes). Daisy himself is as crazy as Catsby but also super sweet. He loves to curl up next to/on us and purr.

Job is meh. I spend a lot of my time e-mailing people and telling them to do things that I am perfectly capable of doing myself and then e-mailing them again to tell them what errors they made. This is time-intensive and dull. At least bosses are being tolerable/nice lately.

In other news, SK has friend-dumped me with no explanation to speak of. (I did get an e-mail, but it was vague and cold and horrible.) SK has been one of my closest friends (and I hers) for over a year and I am heartbroken and I don't know what to do. I mean, there is nothing to do. It feels just like being dumped.

In my efforts to enjoy my summer anyway, I saw an outdoor screening of Pretty In Pink (waaah, John Hughes!) in Rosslyn with smiletara. We then walked to Dupont (why were there fireworks over the Potomac on August 7th?) and arrived at a tiny, loud club called Steve's, where we danced for hours with dasesabudish, Jay, and assorted others. Having been dumped two days before, my plan was not to dance, but it was not the kind of place where one could do anything else. Anyway, it was cathartic. Grey's Anatomy taught us all about the benefits of dancing it out.

I was still having trouble hearing and walking on Saturday, so after going out for breakfast with Art, I spent the whole day in bed being loved on by Daisy. On Sunday I voluntarily went on beach trip with my family. It was surprisingly pleasant, unless you count my sunburn or the discovery, upon getting to my parents' place, that their AC is dead.

Monday was my Dad's birthday, to which aldarsior and I brought kabobs and dessert (three-milk cake from Rosa Mexicano, omg). On Tuesday, potassiumman stocked up on cat supplies at Whole Pet Central and then engaged in ritual Gilmore Girls viewing & Chipotle consumption.

Future plans include girls' night, Six Flags, more beach, birthday outings, the fair, more outdoor movies and just generally squeezing what remains of the summer for all its worth.

I mean, I guess everything's okay. I just miss her so much and I don't understand what happened.
