It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Merry Christmas!

Yesterday's Christmas Eve gathering was so fantastic! Wonderful people, wonderful food (OMG the duck), wonderful present haul (much beautiful jewelry and, wheee, silly putty)! We lit two menorahs, sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus at midnight (yes, with candles that read "2009") and polished off advent chocolates (and pecan pie, chocolate bundt cake, poached pears). Thanks to everyone who came and shared my favorite holiday with me and aldarsior. I hope all of you enjoyed it as much as I did!

As we got home at some point between 5 and 6 A.M. after dropping some guests off, aldarsior and I slept in. He got up mid-day to make some pancakes, but then we went back to sleep. We actually got out of bed just now (circa 11:30 P.M.) to play with the rats, make Christmas cookies, catch the last half hour of Christmas music on the radio, and watch some old Christmas specials. Oh, and he surprised me with hot chocolate! So, Christmas Day? Not too shabby, either!

We both have tomorrow off, so the holidaying is expected to continue with some Kosher shawarma (it is still Hannukah, after all, and we are some kind of Jews, hypothetically), a visit to the Brookside Gardens lights show, and maybe some present shopping, for there is still Russian New Year's in my future.
I hope everyone's holiday(s) are going as wonderfully as mine!
