Ripping, tearing, colors flying
Blood is dripping, breaths panting
One is down, not buried
Left to be found

The dark man approaches the prize
A young woman, innocence taken by war
She knows what to expect
He hates her, after all.
But love is only one step from hate
And love and lust are close
She sees it glinting in his eyes
Which shakes her
He is a cold-hearted bastard, after all.
He takes a step closer, she flinches
He backs away, from him a gesture of compassion
Maybe he won't rape her
The know-it-all may be worng, after all.
He tells her what she must do
To escape and help the "Chosen One"
Who is their only chance for Light
He cares, after all.
Safely back with her friends
She tries to convince them he isn't the traitor
They all believe him to be
They think she is confused and in shock
But she persists in her beliefs
Proven when a letter arrives
With his recognizable scrawl on it
And inside it, the information they desperately need
To win this unending war.
