I've been driving through the refineries to get home for the past week and they're really bizarre to see at night. The lights mixed with the thick billowing smoke gives me chills. It feels almost sinister.
Kind of looks like this, but with smoke:
Anyway, I've been driving through the refineries because I've been hanging out with Menchie and some other people from middle school. High school made me completely disregard middle school and I forgot how Menchie and I were practically best friends. Even though I thought she was annoying at times, I was probably just as annoying.
Thursday night after work I met up with Menchie and Frankie and smoked along the Los Angeles River canal. Seeing that none of us had smoked for two days we got really high (lolz) and rode bikes around the neighborhood. We biked to 7-Eleven and as soon as we pulled up we saw three police cars, a cop restraining someone against the side of his car, two cops searching his car, and a bunch of cops standing around and watching. And, of course, our first [high] instincts are to bike the hell out of there, even after they saw us stare, say, "oh shit," and laugh. We went back an hour later and they were gone, and we accomplished out goal of getting hot cheetos and slurpees. Oh the simplicity summer!
Speaking of work, I got a job at Bubba Gump for the summer as a host. I thought working at the dining hall was tedious, but I think all work dealing with food is tedious. Anyway, I hate the job, I hate having to put on a smile for customers, the managers take their jobs too seriously, and on weekends we close at midnight. But on the plus side, I get tips, 50% off Bubba Gump food (HELL YEAH!), and entertainment from watching people take their job too seriously. I'm sure I can manage until September.
Sabrina's spending all of July in Paris and she sent me this picture when she went to Strasbourg:
