Goewin has been here long enough to realize that strange and nasty things have been going on around her, and though she's not seen or heard or been affected by any of it, she's starting to worry about people she hasn't seen for a while. That includes her brother

"What are you trying to find?"

[bravegoewin]

She slams a door.

"Nothing, I hope. I am unsettled!"

[knightsdaughter]

"Um...why?"

[bravegoewin]

"I don't know."

She pauses, hands on hips.

"Hey. Forgive me, I didn't realize it was you. This house... it eats at my brain sometimes."

[knightsdaughter]

"No worries! It happens. I've been poking around myself. But the halls change sometimes, so I don't know how much your map'll help."

[bravegoewin]

"Ehh."

she makes a sound of disgust, looking at the map.

"It's not to find my way. I wanted to keep a sort of tally, you know? Compare it week by week."

[knightsdaughter]

"What are you tallying, then?"

[bravegoewin]

"Rooms, doors. Useful places like kitchen and cloakroom. Rooms I like. There is another little library, did you know? A wee one, in a round turret high up, with curved shelves all around, and all the books are about animals. I've found it twice."

[knightsdaughter]

"Wow. I found a game closet."

[bravegoewin]

"Now that's something useful!"

She laughs.

"I am looking for Lleu, actually. Our mother--well, she's not our mother really, but she's the same person in some similar world--anyway, she's just so odd lately that I worry about her. I think she gets hit with every spell the house throws out and I wanted to know what Lleu thinks."

(her implication being that no one else is trustworthy, sympathetic or sane enough to talk to.)

[knightsdaughter]

She nods. "Sure, I can understand that. I haven't seen him much lately, I'm afraid."

[bravegoewin]

"Yes, well, I also keep worrying that he'll get hit again too."

[knightsdaughter]

"With another spell, you mean."

[bravegoewin]

"Aye. Though why it should be him and not me... Well. I don't worry about me."

[knightsdaughter]

"No, I know. It makes sense. I always worried for my brothers and sisters, back home. Especially when you're the oldest. Well.. I guess neither of you are really the oldest."

[bravegoewin]

"Feels like I am. He was always sick when he was little, everyone babied him."

She rolls her eyes.

"Now he's older. Doesn't make a difference."
