"Idea gate" concept formed as explanation for sozowa: when a character uses some kind of power or ability, they are summoning the ideas formed by the host brain into their reality. Character ideas and Host ideas match up and form a gate by which the sensory information is retranslated back into its original format: "source code" or sensory source.

This is the "character ether" in which all characters persist, the ultimate manifestation of homo sapiens' two outstanding neural hallmarks: empathy and language. When the two combine, they form the imagination--the ability to reconfigure and simulate sensory information into possible experiences, even if such experiences have never been directly encoded into memory. This is the world of the character... and the human being.
