Jesus Christ, Friday Night Lights is so good.

SO. FUCKING. GOOD.

This marks, like, the 8th time I've written some variation of that as an LJ post. I can't even begin to describe how much I love this show. Only The Office does it for me the same way these days. And at this point, I don't think 24 or Lost were ever as good as FNL/Office are

haha wow, someone's got too much time on their hands.

it's on wednesday nights, 8pm. I'd say watch from the beginning, but not for the same reason as lost. It's not like you'd be confused, it just helps get you involved with the characters.

It's weird, because it's the same way I felt when I watched Lost Season 1 straight through in 34 hours, where every episode's getting me emotionally, and I care about the characters so much. Thing is, when I started watching lost week-by-week, it didn't get me emotionally the same way. I still love love love it (this week's episode was totally unnecessary though, just like those two characters in general), but it's a different experience having to wait a week. Meanwhile, 24 always had the cliffhanger badassery, but never got me emotionally the same way (which is why I put Lost on an equal/occasionally higher plane).

But FNL, I can go three weeks without seeing it, and it still packs the same punch. It's just such a not-pretentious show, it feels more real than almost anything I've seen on television. It's funny, it's moving, it's honest, it deals with Big Issues without making you feel preached to. It's totally a high school drama, but just done so, so well. I dunno, watch it. I'd be interested to see if you feel the same way. I don't know many people who actually watch, but those who do tend to love it.

haha, it took about two minutes with the aid of google desktop.

Lost was a little funny this week, though still much improved over the beginning of the season. They had to address that couple at some point, because they just kept cropping up in small parts, but then to just kill them of (maybe) was weird. Oh well. I had the same deal with watching the first season and a half on the computer/dvd, so I still hate watching it on TV as well.

I think we've said this every season, but I'm feelin it's the last go round for Jack on 24 this time. Him going back into the Russian consulate and rehashing that old sovereign territory deal kind of sealed that thought for me

the thing that pissed me off about lost was, what was the point in bringing in those characters in the first place? they kept talking about how crucial they'd be, and they wound up existing solely to be killed. the continuity stuff though, inserting them into season 1 scenes, that was cool.

But after the cop-out (in my opinion) on the china thing at the beginning of this season, I don't think they'll kill Jack. It makes sense to, but that was such a let down, I feel like they'll do it again somehow before actually killing him.
