I never remember my dreams when I wake up. The only real exception to that is if I wake up in the middle of the dream. Last night I had a dream that I remembered when I woke up this morning. I'm kind of excited about that. Now if only the dream made any sense.
Most of you probably remember the complete and utter insanity from when I was studying for my comprehensive exams. Despite the fact that I passed my comps months ago now, I had a dream about them last night (see how badly they scar?!?!). I had already passed the writtens and was taking my oral exams but they were completely different from my real orals. They were a lot longer with harder questions. When I finished the real orals, my committee sent me out into the hall while they debated for a bit then called me back in and told me that I had passed. In my dream orals, they didn't tell me anything. I had to wait for a form to arrive in the mail several days later. The form was basically a checklist of topics within each time period and the professors had to mark if I had shown sufficient knowledge on every topic. I don't remember all the topics, I just know that for the colonial period I hadn't shown sufficient knowledge on two areas: piracy and boat making and something else that I don't remember now. I don't remember any of the topics, but I failed the twentieth-century portion as well. Because I failed two areas on my orals, I was required to retake my written and my orals exams. I woke up in a panic because I'd have to retake all my comps because I didn't know enough about colonial boat making. Then I remembered I passed my comps in April and was very happy.
Any takers on psychoanalyzing that one?
EDIT: Utterly random (what else do you expect from me) but they've announced the title of the fourth Indiana Jones movie. It is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Not sure how I feel about that.
