NT 50th

I promise I do think about things (dissertation, family, students, and politics at the top of the list at the moment) and might even sometimes post about things that are not British media related. For now though...

The BBC Media Center has posted more information about the National Theatre 50th Anniversary. It is so hard to pick some highlights but how about "Dame Maggie Smith will give a speech from The Beaux’ Stratagem ... Sir Michael Gambon and Sir Derek Jacobi will take on roles in No Man’s Land ... Dame Helen Mirren will give again the scene where she murders her husband in Eugene O’Neill’s Mourning Becomes Electra. Benedict Cumberbatch and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith will recreate a scene from the 1967 production of Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead ... Judi Dench will appear again as Cleopatra and sing Send In The Clowns from the musical A Little Night Music, in which she originally appeared in 1995." etc., etc., etc. This sounds amazing!!
