In the past couple of weeks, there was a 12 day stretch where I had a headache for at least three hours on 9 of the 12 days. Somewhere in there, I finally caved and went to the doctor. I told him I was sure it was all sinus pressure from my stupid seasonal allergies that are really constant not seasonal and just get worse on occasion and I didn't know if there was anything he could for me or not as I was already on three prescriptions for my allergies, one pill and two nasal sprays. He agreed that the headaches were completely sinus related and put me on two more pill prescriptions. The five drug combo has definitely helped. The first two days after I went to the doctor weren't much different than the preceding 10, but the couple since have been headache free. I'm still a little stuffy because I'm always a little stuffy but the pressure is much less.
The headaches are the primary cause of my absence lately. They're also why I haven't been going to the gym and the like. There was also a mini heat wave here this week and we were back into the low 90s some days. That finally broke and yesterday and today have been gorgeous, sunny fall days. I'm sure this won't last and we'll have at least one more return to summer, but with the headaches currently under control and the weather beautiful and me being restless from my recent lack of physical activity, I'm planning on spending as much of today outside as possible. I spent yesterday morning going for a long run / hike and then spent much of the afternoon reading on a blanket in my yard. I think today will be an inverse of that with the reading coming earlier in the day and the running / hiking later. The end result of all this is that I haven't had a chance to go through the BBC radio feeds yet this week. I'll be back with the usual Sunday morning posts sometime after dark today. :)
