I think I may never catch up with all the friends page-ness! o.O

Oooh, I'm home from Europe. It was fantastic, but two weeks was certainly enough time. I missed Dominique and some other people a lot and Josh Glassman was really starting to get on my nerves.

The thing I was really excited about for this trip was the singing. I thought I might be more excited for everything else, but the coolest thing was definitely just all the awesomely beautiful (and marvelously acoustic) places that we had the privilege to in.
In Rome sang:
-On the Spanish Steps
-In the Pantheon
-A private concert in the Governor's Palace (the part of Vatican City that most people are never allowed into ^_^)
-In St. Peter's church (the huge capital of Catholicism)

We sang a concert in a church in Prato (near Florence) which was really awesome. The church's choir sang too and afterwards we all went across the street for tons of pizza, pasta, wine, and karaoke. It was a blast and it was amazingly fun to just spend time with real Italians (no other tourists in sight!)

The day we spend in Siena(also near Florence) was my favourite. We sang:
-At some prestigious Acadamy of Music
-In the Duomo da Santa Maria
-In the Piazza del Campo, where we set out a hat, sang for about half an hour, and made 98,67 Euro. (That's somewhere around $130-140)

We used the money we earned singing on the street to go to Pisa for a bit, which was cool. The real cool part, though was singing at the Baptiste. Historians today believe that the architect of the Baptiste meant it to be a musical instrument because the acoustics are so amazing. Singing there was my favourite because it just felt the best.

We sang a concert in Cinque Terre (an amazingly gorgeous place composed of five little towns on the coast). We got there to discover posters of us all over the place, which was cool. I swiped one. It has my picture on it. And it's in Italian. SPIFFY! Our concert was amazingly packed. Like, people were crowded standing in the back. Everywhere we sang we got such positive responses from people, including those who knew what they were talking about.

In Venice we sang for a special celebratory Mass(corpus Domini) at St. Mark's. It's supposed to be sooo beautiful...but I think the inside is pretty tacky. The outide's nice, though. Six of us also blundered our way horribly through one song whilst on a gondola, because the gondolier said he'd sing for us if we sang for him.

In Paris we had the ultimate pleasure of singing a concert in Notre Dame. Notre Dame is the most beautiful cathedral. And we sang spirituals in it ^_^...as well as traditionally legit stuff.

Mrs. Rowley said that we sounded better than Chamber Singers when Courtney was at Ypsi with Mr. Boggs. And I know she wouldn't say it if she didn't mean it. That's cool.

My favourite tour story is not Scott wearing really ugly slippers to the Vatican (when we sang our private concert for the cardinal and performed in St. Peter's)...although that story is particularly hilarious. My favourite occurred in Cinque Terre. I was in the room with Travis and Adam and we were all on the bed. Travis and I were talking and Adam was watching Italian television. When suddenly Adam (nicknamed "Adam Jizmaster Mormon Glowstick" by Travis) exclaims, "Wow! That's HOT!" Travis and I looked towards to TV, expecting to see something...well, hot. It was the weather forcast.

I have many more tour related things/stories...but no one's reading this longass entry anyhow, so if you care let me know and I'll fill you in.

Mrs. Brenna's leaving Ypsi. They're not hiring a new teacher, they're just switching someone from the district around. We don't know who it will be, but we do know that all of the choices are rather....not good. And the rest of the administration/everything is going more to hell. They're purposefully pitting upper level classes against each other to try and push the upper echelon students out to different schools so that everyone's on an equally stupid playing field and they don't have to educate people, they can just work on teaching to the MEAP. Too bad it's too late for WTMC. I want to go to Interlochen.

So, in case you people don't know, Blue Cross Blue Shield gave Corner funding to make an education DVD of the Dating Violence show (starring myself and Neil ^_^). We had our rehearsal for us yesterday (YAYAYAYAYAYA! JOEY'S BACK!) and I'm really quite excited.
fiestykoala (10:19:57 AM): I guess just because it's different and it'll be fun
fiestykoala (10:20:06 AM): And because Joey's back
omega30one (10:20:16 AM): haha
omega30one (10:20:18 AM): right
fiestykoala (10:20:44 AM): Why are you laughing at me? -_-;;
omega30one (10:21:16 AM): cause it was cute
omega30one (10:21:23 AM): and liz-like
fiestykoala (10:21:59 AM): Well, everything Liz-like....isn't cute *hangs head*
omega30one (10:22:22 AM): ?
omega30one (10:22:36 AM): well, maybe not your left kidney
fiestykoala (10:22:57 AM): Or my double uterus

Filming starts Sunday.

Eric's neice was baptised at my church last weekend. o.O

My summer thus far:
Thursday: long plane ride, going out to Cady's/Cafe Luwak/Frog Island park (and having a scary run-in with a cult) with John, Laura, Adam, Michelle, and Dominique
Friday: lots of Dominique (we watched Jungle Book), rehearsal, hanging out with Todd, Thomas, and Phil
Today: Yay morning time to myself, Purple Rose show, Drew, dinner with Neil

...^____________^ It's good to be home.
