Spring cleaning
Work is very strange at the moment; the school is probably going to close or merge at the end of this school year/sometime this summer, though the board of trustees will make a decision about that later this week. They were already slowly reducing my hours to 2 days a week as of April, but that was originally going to be a (hopefully) temporary thing, pending a good round of recruitment for students in the fall. Now it feels like the administration has basically given up.
In any case, my supervisor told me that as long as I keep responding to emails sent to me within work hours, she doesn't care what I do with that time otherwise. By March (or April at the latest) I'll probably need to transition to actively looking for a new job, but for the next few weeks I think I'm going to focus instead on sprucing up my Dreamwidth account and revamping the various Wordpress.com sites I've played with over the years into something I could theoretically use as a portfolio of my design skills.
At the moment, though, I'm mostly just going through the Dreamwidth account and deleting all the LJ-ported posts with broken YouTube embeds. There's a lot, so it'll keep me busy for at least a few days. And then... new content! I have dearly missed creating things, even as work kept me too mentally exhausted to do more than think "oh, I wish I could".
I'm not looking forward to the job hunt, but I can't deny the great sense of relief and freedom I'm feeling at the moment.
