The Rodney one came to me as I was lying in bed, trying to go to sleep. So then I had to get up and write it down. This sort of thing happens to me a lot more frequently than I'd like.
Lobachevski created 'imaginary' geometry, where a triangle's angles add up to less than 180 degrees, parallel lines continually approach each other without ever meeting, and 'ultra' parallel lines continually diverge without ever meeting either. It's all a little crazy.
I have this mental image of him tying balloon animals during staff meeting.
And the meeting would just sort of drift to a halt around him as everyone slowly realized what exactly he was doing, because - Ronon. Making balloon art.
Definitely. And for the Athosian kids. He's surprisingly good at keeping tired, cranky, freaked-out kids quiet while their parents meet with Elizabeth to figure out what the heck they're going to do now.
Well, maybe not the red clown nose, but definitely the rest of it. It always throws the marines for a loop, because it's Ronon, who spends an awful lot of time beating up on them, and here he is making the Pegasus equivalent of duckies out of balloons. And it turns out he's very fond of pink.

But at least I got a ficlet out of it.

Liked the Rodney snippet.

And I said, "Brain, clearly you have cracked under all the pressure of Lobachevski and Marx."
But I wrote it down anyway.

And OMG.
I just had this image of a bunch of kids clustered around Ronon, with a bright red clown nose, twisting up all sorts of weird assed balloon animals.
It's your fault with all this story telling and talk of non-Euclidean geometry!
Keep it up.
