Oh this is really good. I especially like the last bit:

Thank you for such a thoughtful comment. I agree completely about the lack of John's trauma. Unfortunately, we probably won't be seeing any of it, but I like to imagine (more hurt! more angst!).

I'm glad you enjoyed it.
