the Abercrombie of chamber music...

So, I need an opinion.

Is it really worth spending an extra $10-20 to buy a recording with famous names? Or should I just go for one with a group that's still well known, but just not as popular... not quite sure. So hard to tell with the little one minute segments on Amazon. I think that, being the poor student/musician that I am, I'm apt to buy the cheaper one...

Lesson went well yesterday. Within 60 minutes he gave me 3-5 things that could be causing my tendonitis and gave me things to help fix them. I walked in there expecting to work on rep, but it ended up being a technique day. Going back to my roots, doing the Geminiani hand position, the Daily Dozen (Dounis), and vibrato exercises... I felt like I was in seventh grade again. I've kind of gotten away from some of my technique exercises lately. I know, I know, slap me on the wrist. But he is a MAGNIFICENT teacher. If only I could take more lessons... the next opening he has isn't until next Friday. I guess that'll just give me more time to practice and fix all of my little quirks and bad habits. It's funny, because just when you start thinking you're halfway decent at something, someone is there to show you that you're really not. Soooo much room for improvement. I'm glad I have those people in my life though. I crave constructive criticism.
