“You do not wish to remember … us … any longer?” Eric cocked his head, leaning even closer into me, which I hadn’t thought possible. Then again, this was Eric: anything was possible.
“No,” I lied. I gripped the bar and half-prayed prayed Sam would come out of his office.
“Hmm,” said Eric, inhaling, closing his eyes. “Your mouth says that, but your body says this.” He ground himself against me.
I gasped. He had the nerve to laugh, but then his eyes grew serious.
“You’re the one thing I cannot bear to forget.”
And, for once, I believed him.
