Reaction to the Obama budget
Re: Obama's proposed budget (there's a PDF copy available for download on CNN) - as nervous as I am about that deficit (which naturally falls to my generation), I'm generally in favor of it. Most of the proposed spending sounds to me like things that need to be done. So yeah, on the downside, we'll inherit the deficit; on the plus side, it seems a little more likely to me now that we'll still have a country to inherit.
And regarding the general Republican handwringing currently going on (c.f. Bobby Jindal) - wow. I can't believe... oh, boy, take a deep breath... it's like my birthday's come again... I can't believe I finally get to say this...
But the budget includes a $25 billion increase for the Department of Veterans' Affairs. Don't you, you know, support the troops?!
