Urg. Life. It continues...

Job searching is seriously wearing me down. But also I think I have some weird Atlas Shrugged PTSD. I finished that book almost a month ago and have moved on to George Lakoff's Women, Fire, and Dangerous Things: What Categories Reveal about the Mind. WF&DT is quite good, quite dense, and directly confronts a lot of objectivist philosophy, showing where the flaws are and what the alternatives are. I keep on getting distracted from reading the book by thinking about how much I want to force all the Atlas Shrugged characters and all the real world Randian/Objectivist people to read this book. Given that I'm only a third of the way through, it seems like I might need to work on my focus on actually reading the book I want to make people read and to stop thinking so much about the book I finished and didn't like.

Urg.

On the up-side, I made tiramisu! Yay!

It was both very fun to make and something of a work out given that I don't have an electric beater and I needed to whip egg whites into stiff peaks twice (once for the ladyfingers and once for the custard) and whipping cream into stiff peaks once (for the custard). So now I have a 9"x17" pan full of tiramisu and that is a lot. In future, I think I need to remember to halve the recipe.
