Michigan was a blast but I think I'm kidding myself thinking I have a chance to hell to get in. Oh well. I'll continue to visit because I love it soo much.
I hung out with Brit, Jonathan, and Bryan. Messing around Ann Arbor. One of my favorite moments was when Bry and I went to go get coffee before Bandorama so he could study. I sat there with my iPod and my book but I couldn't read much at a time. I kept looking out the huge glass walls facing a very busy intersection in Ann Arbor. The old fashioned theatre across the street was showing Donnie Darko. I couldn't help but smile as I watched people running by, their breath steaming in the frigid air. Bryan's proud of me because I was walking around outside at night in a t shirt. It's all about Michigan climate baby! But I was so happy and impressed with all the diversity I witnessed just by chilling in one of the many Starbucks. Packed with hot students I might add. Good times. Bandorama was excellent. The school of music has two bands kind of like Shenandoah did last year but their lower level band played some music that our wind ensemble played last year. Awesome. I can't get over how fired up I am whenever I hear the marching band let alone see them make their upbeat high step entrances. Ahhh! So much talent. Bow down! I know if I ever do get into Michigan I'm going to have to start running over the summer like Bryan to get in shape for the marching band. That's some insane stuff. Wow. Jonathan, Bryan, some of their friends, and I went out to the Pizza House (Ann Arbor tradition) after the concert and stayed until about 2am talking and laughing non stop. Jonathan knocked his huge glass of beer off the table. It shattered and spilled beer on this Michigan Marching Band Tubas jacket. Hah! I went to a Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma gathering the next day. Very cool. I'm amazed at how much brotherhood they exhibit. And I don't think a single one was a music major. Well, maybe one. I'm jealous of their bonds. I even found out that the Packs have a quirky legacy there. Everyone remembers Bryan and Jonathan is now the "chapter bitch". I had to introduce myself as the cousin of the Kappa bitch. Wonderful. The three of us went to Bryan's new house (that's Dr. Pack to you!) and had pizza. We took turns flipping through old Michigan marching band "yearbooks", A Michigan Tradition or something. There's even a picture of my uncle when he was a freshmen there. First chair euph! I went to class with Brit on Monday. Her statistics class was awesome. I know I know. I hate math. I took advanced stat here and hated that too but her class was soo much better. One of those huge ones with stadium seating. I felt so much more comfortable in there. And on to her anthropology discussion class. She claims not to like it but I enjoyed it and she had some very smart things to say. I think she talked the most out of her entire class. Hurrah!
Ok, that was long and I really didn't get into too much detail! Bam! I miss it so much already. I remember thinking, "SHIT!" when my plane landed in Dulles last night. I was secretly hoping that the flight would be delayed or clancelled or had crashed to the ground killing only me. And the two uver annoying guys sitting behind me. Anything to keep me from coming back here. Sorry guys, I love you all, but I don't belong here. Miserable.
