Je confirme, ça sonne mieux en anglais, moins péjoratif, va savoir pourquoi! J'ai coupé un poil le chapitre, parce que j'écris pas aussi vite que je ne poste! Merci pour la suite, j'ai repris toutes tes suggestions! (bon, je vais aller me biturer au sirop pour la toux!)
Um, okaaaay, now I simply must ask. As one who occasionally tries to dust off my high school Francais on your comments, what, please, is 'poor woobie' en francais? *chuckles*
I'm really not sure, perhaps "pauvre petit/pauvre chou", "pauvre bébé" (if 'poor woobie' means 'poor baby') It's really weird because when I was studying english at school, I was mostly studying translation. And now, I read in english, I (try to) write in english but I don't think what I write in French first. I just find the sentences in english. Since I only watched The OC in english, it would be hard for me to think about it (and to write a fanfic about it) in french.)
Thanks! *grin* But I'm no help- the connotation is certainly 'poor baby', but frankly I've never encountered the term 'woobie' anywhere but here with my fellow OC fans.
And my search revealed- nothing. I am laughing, though, because it asked if I meant 'Wookie'. Here's to Chewbacca!
And suddenly I seem to recall that 'chou' is literally 'cabbage'- but also a term of endearment when preceded by 'petit'....just musing. And not at all sure of that recollection. "Little cabbage" is NOT, however, what I call the hubby during romantic moments.....
(That sounds so much better in English, doesn't it?)
J'adore! :)

So: 'Woobie?' is this a new word? Anyone?
*off to plug it into dictionary.com*
