Ignore if you have no interest in Kpop.

ATTN Sone friends: I really urge you to participate in the easiest project SSF has going on for the girls' 3rd anniversary. It's a Sones Around the World photo project. The info link is here. I'm on vacation at the moment, but I stopped by the local UPS Store and printed the logo so I could take pictures with the view from my condo and in some other beachy places. I'm going to take more around my actual hometown after I get back. The project is really easy, pretty much free and I think the videos will turn out really cool.

Okay, so this is a story I've been mulling over for awhiiiiile now. I've had the first part of it written since probably right after the new year, and I've just stalled out on writing the rest. I know what I want to have happen, and there are some scenes I've already envisioned and written out that pepper through the middle. I thought I'd post what I've got here, and see if you guys think it would be worth continuing. If you think so, then I'll go from there and try and figure out my options.

The basic gist of it is this: AU fic, gangsters. I know, I know it's a theme that's really played out in Kpop fic, but I haven't seen very many in SNSD fandom and none of the ones I have seen have been very good. I'm not trying to toot my own horn here or anything, I just wanted to try my hand at something I haven't seen done really well yet. Plus I just really love mob fics. I really do. I think they're fun. Plus who can tell me that the idea of badass gangster Fany isn't fucking sexy?

Obviously, it would be rated R and will include strong language, violence, sexuality and drug use among other things. If you have no interest in reading things like that, then just skim on past. I won't be offended.

Here are the main pairings:

Boss' right-hand woman Tiffany/Boss' wife Jessica
Fany's lieutenant Yuri/Tattoo artist and plucky comic relief Yoona
Fany's lieutenant Hyoyeon/Prostitute Sunny

There will be other pairings throughout, including little affairs between some of the characters above along with Yuri/BoA, Sunny/Taec (sort of), Narsha/Hyuna, Sunny/Hyomin and CL/Bom. There will probably be more as my cast of characters expands. I'm trying to be really inclusive with a wide number of artists/groups.

Other cameos will include:
Boss Lee Soo Man
Boss JYP
Boss YG
Mafia doctor Seohyun
Blackmailed chef Sooyoung
Cop-with-a-grudge Taeyeon
Fucking batshit insane assassins CL & Minzy
Bodyguard BoA
Villainous 2PM
Brothel madam Narsha
Kim Shinyoung
Minor DBSK appearances
Minor Beast appearances
+ more

This probably sounds like a lot. It is a lot, which is why it's taken me so long to getting it off the ground. But I really want it to work. And collaboration with other authors would probably be really cool. jeti_heaven has already offered her help in that area.

So.. anyway.. what I have is just a little bit. It's probably a bit choppy with some awkward phrasings but if you would not address those at the moment. If you think I should continue, I'll get more down into the nuts and bolts of it after that point. This would probably be the opening or an early scene in the fic. Let me know if you think it's worth it..

Tiffany Hwang leaned back in her chair, dark eyes surveying the expanse of security camera monitors in front of her. Running a nightclub was never an easy venture, even when running it on behalf of one of the largest crime syndicates in the country. People were stupid, and stupid people just made her job that much more difficult. Simply put: it was absolute idiocy to go into a club run by organized crime and try to deal your own game. Whether it be guns, drugs, or girls, it was a losing battle. The house always won. It just seemed like no one but the house had realized that yet.

Tiffany watched with some measure of satisfaction as her trap worked. One of her lower ranking guards had posed as a clubber looking to score. The same idiot that had been running his own product through her club for the last two weekends wasted no time in grabbing the mark. Her beatific smile only grew as he handed her man a small plastic bag.

Leaning forward, she pressed down on the two-way speaker on her desk.

“Got him. Bring him up.”

By the time her men arrived to her office, Tiffany had situated herself leaning back against the front of her desk. She watched in silence as the young man was forced into and handcuffed to a chair opposite her. She took note of the confidence glimmering in his eyes.

“What’s the point in bringing me up here? It’s not like you’re gonna scare me.”

“Ah, ah, ah, little boy. Where are your manners?” Her head cocked to one side as she swept a critical eye over him. He honestly looked like a middle schooler.

“Tch. Cunt.”

He was clearly not expecting the fist across his face, nor the broken molars he spat onto the floor. His eyes grew wide, and his chest heaved.

“Such a foul mouth for such an angelic looking child. Shame on you.”

He remained silent, but she could see the faintest of tremblings in his lower lip.

“What’s your name, little boy?”

“Yo Seob. Y-Yang Yo Seob.”

“Ah. Nice to meet you, Yo Seob. My name is Tiffany, and I’m so pleased we’ll be getting to know one another better tonight.”

She paced idly back and forth in front of him, gesticulating with her hands as she spoke.

“Now, Yo Seob, let me tell you what I think is going on here. If the tattoo I spy on the side of your neck is any indication, you belong to that scrappy little street gang that runs around the entertainment district….”

She trailed off as she stopped directly in front of him. As she rolled up the sleeve of her blouse, she pushed her forearm directly into his line of sight.

“I trust this tattoo lets you know just who I work for?” The mixed surprise and fear in his eyes gave her that answer. She patted him on the head once and resumed pacing.

“Now, my associates and I have allowed you to run around and cause some minor havoc here and there, and that’s all well and good. Had we known you would escalate to this point… Well… I suppose I owe you an apology. We shouldn’t have let you and your friends get so comfortable. Our rules should have been clear-cut. Crystal. Rock solid with no room for grey areas.”

She turned back to her desk and slipped the brass knuckles off her hand. Cocking her head to one side, Tiffany smiled as her neck popped in a few places. She began to open a lockbox on her desk.

“Without our strict supervision, your little degenerate band developed a skewed view of the food chain here in Incheon. You thought you were so tough, so untouchable that you could come here - to my club - and peddle your own wonder dust.

“Now, Yo Seob, I’m sorry. I truly am. I take full responsibility for leading us here to this point tonight, but I’m afraid we just cannot overlook this behavior. No more time for coddling. If you and your Cube friends want to run around acting like a real gangsters, then I suppose it’s about time I treated you that way.”

When she turned around to face the boy, her smile shone brightly… as did the rather large hunting knife in her hand.

Tiffany could practically smell the fear rolling off him in waves. Obviously he had severely underestimated this competition. He thought himself a big fish in a small pond. Tiffany would make sure that tonight he learned she and her associates were even bigger than that. They were sharks, and they would eat him alive.

Tonight was a very good night indeed.

Tonight was one of the worst nights she could remember.

Things had been going so well. She had finally picked off that Cube brat and sent him back to his boys piece by piece. One more thing off her list. No sooner had she stepped over to her minibar to pour herself a well-deserved drink when her phone rang. The news had not been good.

Tiffany scowled as she opened the rickety front door and stepped into the tattoo parlor. Of all the nights to be sent on a wild goose chase looking for her own lieutenant…

“Well, well, well, if it ain’t Miyoungie. Always a pleasure seein’ ya.”

Tiffany turned her head and immediately wanted to slap the annoying, lopsided grin off Yoona’s face. Or maybe just shove the sucker dangling from her lips down her throat. Her expression darkened as she pointedly ignored the tattoo artist and instead focused on the woman lying facedown in her chair.

“Yah! Where the fuck is your phone?”

The sound of her senior’s voice immediately lifted Yuri’s attention, and she hastily propped herself up on her elbows in order to look at the other woman.

“It’s in my coat pocket. Why the hell are you he-“

Tiffany cut her off.

“Where’s Hyo?”

“Uhhh…”

Dark eyes rolled.

“You were supposed to go with her to see the new tenants at the old noo-“

“I did! Well, we did! We were there. I was talking. Hyo was doing her broody, silent staredown thing. I thought the man was going to piss himself I swear,” Yuri started to laugh at the memory, but the unamused expression on Tiffany’s face made her think twice. “Anyway, Yoona called and told me she had an appointment cancel. Hyo said it would be fine if I left. She said she’d get him to sign the contract.”

“You’re not answering my question. Where. Is. Hyoyeon?”

“I uh… I’m not entirely sure. She said she would see me back at home.”

In a last ditch effort to avoid throttling her lazy junior, Tiffany turned and stalked to the tattoo parlor’s front window. Pulling her cell phone from her pocket, she dialed and waited for an answer. By the fifth ring, she was just shy of blowing a gasket. Slamming the phone shut, she hurled it into the nearest wall, not caring when it shattered into pieces.

“What are you idiots thinking?! Where the fuck is everyone when I need them?!”

“Yah! Miyoungie. What crawled up that pretty behind a’ yours an-“

An index finger jabbed emphatically in Yoona’s direction.

“Shut your mouth, or I’ll shut it for you.”

Yoona eyed the raging woman for a few quiet moments. She seemed to be weighing the pros and cons of the situation. Normally, the tattoo artist would have no qualms about poking at Tiffany. It was like a little love game they played. Yoona would speak, Tiffany would growl. Yoona would prod a bit more, Tiffany would threaten her life. Ninety-eight percent of the time, Tiffany’s threats were hollow. Tonight, however, seemed to be a part of that two percent Yoona didn’t totally trust. So she shrugged and moved to resume inking Yuri’s back.

“Don’t bother starting up again. We’re leaving. Yuri, get up.”

“What? I can’t just leave! We’re not even halfway throu-“

“Kwon Yuri, listen to me. For the last time. Move your ass. I’ll be in the car.” With no room for negotiation in her words, Tiffany glared at Yuri then Yoona before turning and walking out the front door.

Yuri swallowed at the tone of Tiffany’s voice. Rarely ever did she work herself into moods such as this one. The dark-skinned woman knew not to argue any further. She sat up and reached for the shirt she had previously discarded while Yoona set about wrapping her back in gauze.

“Aish,” Yoona sighed. “Hurts ta see a woman that pretty be so mean. Meaner ‘an a damn snake, I tell ya.”

“You know she’s not like this all the time,” Yuri answered, gingerly working the buttons up the front of her shirt. She turned and collected her tie, letting it hang loosely from her neck. “Something’s got her worked up.”

“Or just that she ain’t been worked up in awhile, ‘eh. Don’t let her come back in here ‘til she gets laid.”

Yoona continued to mutter to herself under her breath as she disinfected her tools.

“Oh shut up,” Yuri said. She approached Yoona from behind and put both hands on the girl’s shoulders. Leaning down she pressed a quick kiss to the crown of her head. “You’d be bored without her around.”

“Bored my ass. I’d be livin’ my life in a helluva lot more peace without that banshee’s racket around.”

Yuri chuckled as she headed for the front door. “Yeah, yeah. Try not to work too hard, Yoong.”

“Never do, darlin’.”

“What’s your problem? Why did you come storming in there like a bat out of hell intent on ruining my night?”

Tiffany rolled her eyes as Yuri slid into the passenger seat of the car.

“Ruin your night? Oh, that’s rich. You’re about to be in for a whole new world of ruined nights if you don’t put a little more effort into your work.”

“The fuck’s that supposed mean!?” Yuri snapped indignantly.

“Ever since we were moved to Incheon, you’ve gotten lax. Just because the police aren’t riding our asses as hard here doesn’t mean you can slack off. We have to be just as strong here as we were in Seoul. You’re lucky I’m nice.”

“Nice? Since when the hell are you-“

“You still have all your fingers and toes, right?” Tiffany asked, her grip on the steering wheel tightening.

Yuri had no response.

“Well, the bullshit ends here. Everything changes tonight.”

“What do you mean?” This time Yuri’s voice was quiet. Her head was bowed in submission, and her eyes were trained on one spot on the floorboard.

“Xiah called me. Lee Soo Man is returning from China tonight.”

Yuri’s deference gave way to confusion.

“But what does that have to do with us? Shouldn’t you be calling Siwon?”

“Why would I do that? He isn’t returning to Seoul. He’s shifting his concentration elsewhere. He’s moving here.”

Yuri’s eyes went wide. “Here? The boss?”

Tiffany spared her junior a knowing look. “Like I said. Everything changes tonight.”
