My character would probably think, about my own species: "I wish I was OK with being as lazy as you guys." :)

1. Lions. Are. LAZY!

Real lions: Male lions are, lionesses less so.
"Lion" people in general: Pretty true.
Me: I feel as though I'm lazy; but realistically, if I look at how much I do compared to other people, I'm not actually that lazy. I would be a lot lazier if that didn't make me feel bad about myself! (Apparently the tendency for lions to be egotistical is stronger than the tendency to be lazy, in my case! :)

2. Lions are egotistical.

Real lions: Hard to say. Probably not.
"Lion" people in general: Pretty true.
Me: I am a bit, yes. Certainly self-confident, but it can edge into egotism. Or pride, at least. (Imagine that!)

3. Lions are "Kings of the Jungle".

Real lions: Lions don't live in the jungle. Figuratively, they are at the top of the food chain, and don't often get challenged by anyone except other lions, rarely by hyenas.
"Lion" people in general: True. I think lions often have forceful personalities, which means they are not often challenged, or at least given some respect.
Me: On a good day, I am King of all I survey. ("Everywhere the light touches...")

4. Lions have sex 100x a day!

Real lions: Actual lions do have sex every 1/2h for 4 days in the mating season - that's still not 100x a day.
"Lion" people in general: I think "lion" people are not the most ardent lovers, or at least not the most "vigorous" - if nothing else, quality is more important than quantity.
Me: I wish! I do think I "stand up" well against others of my species, and of other species as well. :)

5. Lions have tiny penises. :(

Real lions: I have heard different account from people who have worked with lions... so, probably not true in all cases.
"Lion" people in general: Half and half, there's the typical range. :)
Me: I wouldn't call it tiny... ;)

6. Lions eat their own young.

Real lions: A quick web search indicates that it happens sometimes.
"Lion" people in general: The expression "eat their young" generally means to treat those in their care poorly - possibly in a "tough love" sense. Sometimes true, I think.
Me: Generally untrue. I am not opposed to small doses of "tough love" to teach lessons, but in general I'm more likely to spare the rod and spoil the child.

7. Lions are polygamous.

Real lions: Are actually polygynandrous, I believe.
"Lion" people in general: Not true.
Me: True. Actually, more like polyandrous, but let's say polyamorous. :)

8. Lions are social creatures.

Real lions: True.
"Lion" people in general: Not true.
Me: True.

9. Lions always want to be the centre of attention.

Real lions: Not true.
"Lion" people in general: Not true.
Me: Sometimes true.

10. Lions are courageous and brave.

Real lions: Pretty true - in actions if not in spirit, anyways.
"Lion" people in general: Fairly true, at least when it's important enough to them.
Me: Same deal, if it's important enough to me I am pretty willing to fight for a cause. Not a lot of things are that important, though.

I think I make a decent lion. :)
