Fuzzmonster just pointed this out - Pastor Fred Phelps, of the infamous Westboro Baptist Church, is in Toronto ("God hates Canada... Land of the Sodomites"!) tonight, protesting a play called "The Pastor Phelps Project", described as "homophobia versus burlesque in a musical cabaret showdown". !!!
OMG I must see this! He wants to go counter-protest vs. Fred Phelps, which I am also cool with. I'm gonna see if I can do both!
The Pastor Phelps Project: Tickets.
Opinion piece about the play and protest.
The Globe and Mail have a good piece on it.
The Star has some excellent information - there's expected to be a HUGE counter-protest.

I'm gonna make placards to hold! Suggestions? Here're some of mine.
"God hates Westboro Baptist Church"
"God hates Pastor Fred Phelps"
"God Loves Fags"
"God Loves EVERYONE"
"Hate is stupid"
"God made me Gay!"
"Keep your hate out of my country!"
"Nobody asked you, Phelps!"
"Only closet cases fear queers"
"Methinks the Pastor doth protest too much"
"See you faggots in hell!"
Part of me wants to put my lion fursuit on for the event. Maybe with a cardboard-and-sharpie pan-handler-style sign that says "Will eat fundamentalist Christians for gay love" or something. :) I think that might push the borders of a "peaceful" protest, though.
