The weekend update, and un-sorted-ness.
Update:
House Rentals: Saw something like 5 townhouses on Saturday, in 2 different complexes. All are further away from work for me; slightly closer, but likely less transit-convenient for Ash and Matt. All are more "private" (like, not facing a main road - some even with decks and nice ravine views) than our current, but slightly older / less well-appointed. The only one that really tempts me is a HUGE 4-bedroom: most townhouses we're looking at are 3 stories - basement, kitchen/living/dining areas, and bedrooms, with a total of 1.5 baths - this one had 4 stories, with 2 massive bedrooms on each of the top 2 stories, and 2.5 bathrooms total, for only marginally more than we currently pay. Hmm. I'm gonna keep looking.
The Social Pages: Miami and Todd visited Friday night. Much wine consumed. Watched my new "Sing Your Way to Better Sex" DVD, the Fringe show The Wet Spots did. Hilarious! Pony and I played some guitar both Friday evening and Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon was BBQ at Dralen and Fuzzmonster's, with more wine, including Dralen's delicious sangria, grilled meats, guacamole, grilled vegetables, grilled fresh pineapple, and saskatoon tarts with fresh cream cheese and Fuzzmonster's homemade orange syrup - sloppy but delicious! I headed out early-ish (well, relative to how late I usually stay at such parties) Saturday evening to drive west and visit Alex. He and I saw the African Lion Safari on Sunday, which was pretty neat, may cute critters including lions and zebras and giraffes, plus having my car draped in baboons. That was followed by a lot of walking through several segments of the excellent Royal Botanical Gardens, despite the rain. Pretty awesome stuff! Then we headed to visit Miami for supper at a very nice Indian restaurant, and hanging out watching the last Futurama Movie, which I quite enjoyed, though the final ending "moral" of the movie makes me unable to recommend it to anyone, even it it was a joke. Then Alex and I headed to my place. He was originally going to go home this morning, then we arranged to have him stay until I was done work, hang out with us tonight, and I'd drive him home tonight - and then he decided to go back during the day after all.
Today I feel - a little out-of-sorts, not sure why. Might just be tired from a very busy and active weekend (and a fair bit of wine consumption, which takes its toll - even despite lack of hangovers) - but I think missing Alex a bit, now that I know I won't be seeing him after work, might be part of it. I think that - partly due to some thing he and I talked about this weekend, but also just how I've been feeling in general recently - I'm somewhat unhappy with some things about myself right now, but I'm not sure what to do about them or how to reconcile them. I'll have to see how this goes - hopefully it's not another "emotional cold".
Tonight Ash and Matt and I are going to hang out with Growler, that should be fun. Perhaps I will also get to spend some time with Potoroo chatting about Feral! things and music things, and Feral! music things.
Exercise-wise, a got a fair bit of walking done over the weekend - not really the level of cardio I should be doing, but still better than nothing. Missed my work-out this morning due to having a sexy boy next to me when I woke up - work-out re-scheduled for tomorrow morning. Managed to eat reasonably well except Sunday night - deep-fried pakoras, rich and greasy curry, and chocolates for dessert. Oy!
