Priorities

Well, here we are coasting into summer, and I am feeling the need to re-organize myself and get some stuff done that I've been neglecting. So, just a list:

Health:

I have to remind myself that this is actually a priority. Have some lingering medical things I should continue pursuing, particularly my chronically-sensitive stomach and my sore-since-a-snowboarding-injury-in-December right hand. Also should keep working on eating healthier and getting exercise!

Financial:

Been a little better lately, but gotta keep chipping away at this... eat out less, spend less on travel, actually watch my finances regularly - generally keep trying to be a more frugal hedonist! And I do still need to get to a financial advisor - I actually made some attempts the last time I talked about this (which is an improvement), but all were thwarted, in one way or another, and I got discouraged and never carried through. All of the available services seem to be for making wealthy people more wealthy, or for digging out those people who are in very serious shit. I'm neither, I'm "maintaining" - but I'm not gaining, and that's a problem. And I know I need help (another positive step?) if I want to be debt-free, and actually SAVING money, anytime soon.

Music:

Keep practising, keep working on memorizing music for my live show, get back to writing! I'm feeling the urge to take guitar and/or voice (and/or drum?) lessons, or do something else to actually improve my technique.

My own business(es):

Get the website up! (Gonna work on this tonight.) Get a picture gallery of t-shirt designs up there, and post my music stuff as well. Then I need to collect up all the commissions I've had waiting since Feral! 2007 (how did I let them go so long?) and the ones I talked about at FCN, and get them going.

Wine-making stuff:

I've got some stuff to do with my latest batch of "kit" wine. Then I have cider to make, and/or saskatoon wine - not sure which of those to tackle first.

Home Decorating:

We've been talking about moving to another unit in the same townhouse complex - should take a closer look at the feasibility and actual benefits of that. Then I have curtains to make, a papasan chair cushion to re-cover, floor cushions to make, art to hang, etc.

Cleaning:

Besides the regular stuff that needs doing (like the kitchen and bathrooms) I need to sift though a) my room and b) the entire basement (sports stuff, car stuff, music stuff, sewing stuff, wine stuff, other projects and materials, etc. etc.), and get some more things sorted out. Thrown out, or organized, or at least stacked straight, I don't care; but not just piled all over the fucking place, which makes it impossible to find anything - or even get near some of it. In particular I want the downstairs den to be a useful music space - and it's just not, and hardly ever has been. I also need to work out some details with Matt about that, since he's using that room as a painting/art studio as well, but I think those two things need to be managed correctly, if they are even to be in the same space. But I might have a good alternate solution.

Well, that's that for now. I keep saying I'm going to resurrect my "priorities" chart at home, and tonight I AM going to put it on my wall, and update it, and use it.
