So:
www.pandora.com:
An internet radio station that is personalized to you and learns as it goes, as you rate the songs it plays. Americans only, but just lie and give it a US Zip Code if you're not an American resident. It's a really cool idea.
Cargoweasel gave it to me months ago, in order that I should submit my band's CD to it, and I just wrote it down and didn't even look at it until Saturday... and now I'm sorry that I didn't, it's a great way to discover new music! Their CD is now in the mail!
Interestingly, I've been seeing ads for
www.radiolibre.ca here and I checked that out today too... same idea, not quite as cool, not quite as personalized... and I can't make it work on my computer. They say they get their new music from the Society for the Preservation of Francophone Music or something... which doesn't help me any. So I'm hoping a) that they fix their site so I can test drive it and b) that they accept submissions from some Anglophone sources, too!
Also, you can make a meal out of anything, the only difference is how GOOD it is. A little skill does go a long way, though. I took a grated potato, a finely-chopped onion, 5 eggs, a crushed dried chili pepper, some freshly ground pepper, a cup or so of grated Wensleydale cheese, and the crumbled remains of a bag of tortilla chips; mixed it all together, fried it in some oil and butter like a giant fucked-up latke, and served it with sour cream, chopped green onion and more fresh-ground pepper. It's not great but it's edible - mostly due in part to the sour cream I think. Bizarre...
I did almost nothing that I was supposed to tonight.

I should go to bed.
