Hey all.
Well, today has been kinda neat. This is going to be one of those play-by-play here's-what-I-did-today posts that often annoy and bore me by other people, but I'm in the mood for whatever reason... so consider this fair warning, I won't be sad if you
skip it.
Started off sleeping in late (well, late for me). Went to Kindar's organized little meet, had a nice big breakfast with Kovu and Tora and Wyvern... and a pile of other furries.
Took Kovu to some Canadian Computing place to return a video card of some flavour... while I was there I went a few doors down to a "Play It Again" (second-hand sports equipment store) and bought a (Lamar) snowboard with (Liquid) bindings and (Canadian 32) boots. They're ugly but at least the deck doesn't have any silly goth-y skulls and shit on it, the ratchet and release on the bindings seem to function better than any others of that design that I've seen, and the boots fit and are made in Canada!
Then I downloaded LimeWire and WinAmp and grabbed myself a few songs offline (all legal so far, all stuff I already own on CD.. or tape... somewhere) and I must say I'm impressed with LimeWire so far. Also, how the hell does some unknown nobody band get their shit bundled with fucking WinAmp?!? Song's not half-bad, either.
Then I went to help Kindar do some home renovations... we went to Home Depot to take advantage of the hatch-backiness of the Vibe, though the main piece he was worried about not fitting in his car didn't fit in mine either, but at least I have a roof rack and some tie-down straps. (While doing that, Todd Fox called to say he'd found me bubble-tea pearls! Much love, Todd, thanks! He wanted to hang out later, but I was already helping Kindar and then had plans to chill with Potoroo.) So then Kindar and I got his home reno supplies back to his place and decided the most logical thing to undertake this afternoon would be to paint one room. Which we did naked, so we'd not get our clothes dirty - which worked out well, and it was kinda fun!
I called Potoroo who had decided to spend the night with Yennix instead, which is cool -- they could use some time together too, even more than 'Roo and I, so since they have an unexpected opportunity to do so, I am glad to let them! I copied down a recipe from a calendar that Kindar had up (for Rustic Autumn Fruit Tart) and then took my leave. On my way home I got gas at an alarming $1.039/L for the 91 octane stuff ($0.939 for regular) without waiting in line at all and then stopped at a grocery store and bought ingredients for the tart and for bubble tea! (Plus some snacky things, since I was sorta expecting Todd to be hanging out with Ash anyways.)
I get home and someone is parked in my parking spot, so I went to visitor parking only to find that the reason (though completely not valid) that they probably parked in my spot was because visitor parking was full. I eventually found that there was one spot, buried deep behind a semi tractor where it was hard to see and almost as hard to get into -- but I did it (I hope those bushes did not scratch the Vibe's paint). I left the spot-squatters a polite but pointed note on their windshield.
Then I came inside and found the bubble tea pearls (and straws too... you're so awesome, foxy!) but no Todd or Ash (aww...) and went about finding
instructions/recipe for bubble tea and made that, and the tart, and ate some of the lasagne that I made yesterday, and had an almond and milk bubble-tea, which was better than any one I've bought, listening to old favourite songs... and life is SO good! Yay! And I haven't even had any of the tart yet, it's still cooling!
So now I've wasted a pile of time doing this and I'm not ready for bed yet, and Wyvern and Tora won't be back for many hours yet, and I have no idea if anyone else is actually going to be here later or not so... I dunno! Someone snuggle me?
(Dear lord. I think the guarana beverage (Bawls!) I bought at the gas station and the extra-strong tea have actually had an impact...)
