Since I've started LJ all for the sake of Arashi, my interests in jpop and kpop have grown. Boybands have forever been my weakness. NSYNC had my heart for 5 yrs but it was never to this level of fangirling. From 5 hard drives, countless cd's and DVD's, and a few merchandise here & there it seems that uncle johnny has stolen my soul and my wallet. It doesn't seem like Arashi plans on slowing down anytime soon either so it seems like I'm in this for the long haul..hehe I've tried a couple kpop groups like CNBLUE, F.T. Island, 2PM, Big Bang, Exo, and a couple more in between, but for some reason Arashi still brings me back. I love that they are 5 simple guys who enjoy their job and take their job seriously when they are in "work" mode. As soon as they finish their jobs, they go back to being normal citizens, without carrying that idol life into their private life. That in itself is what made me like them so much more. Not to say that Johnny's isn't without their faults, but compared to the kpop counterparts that I've seen, uncle johnny seems to be doing something right in his business aspect. Protecting his talents and allowing them to live their lives about as normally as they possibly can while being public figures. Naturally, when your a fan of 1 group in Johnny's you end up liking another, and another, until eventually, you realize you have a few groups you stan. Hey! Say! JUMP's songs have always been really catchy and fun and just recently I have started to pay more attention to them, probably because I don't feel like a creeper thinking their adorable now that they are all finally adults. I like that even for a group as large as theirs, they still have that homey feeling and that they all seem to genuinely get along and care for each other. I know that the personas they give when the cameras are on may be different from when they are off, but either way, they are a joy to watch, and in time, I'm sure Arashi's kouhai's will follow in their footsteps with being all around great players in the entertainment field.
