Phoenix Film Festival was pretty cool. I think I'd like to do the whole weekend next year, give me a chance to see more of the movies. One day is hard, because of how they set it up, and you don't get to see as much as you'd really like to. A couple of the local short films were really good. There were a few really fucking bad ones though. The Falls was decent too, great ending, but the use of music was really bad and kinda distracting. It went from cheesy psuedo jazz piano muzak, to lame technoish nu-metal, plus it was always too loud and playing at the worst possible moments. Advice to anyone making a film. Do not play loud music over important dialouge. BAD IDEA!!
Dylan Baker was at the film festival and at the party afterwards. He was standing near Mac and I, talking to this guy, and the whole time I couldn't stop thinking of him as a child molester. His part in Happiness was truely one of the creepiest parts in any movie.
Speaking of child molesters, I'd also like to thank Drew for changing the fred and nick picture to mook, as it turned into a great resource for this post.
